The popularity of Reliance Jio is a prime attraction for scammers to send phishing messages and lure users into downloading malicious apps. Recently, cyber security firm Symantec found 152 malicious Android apps being circulated online that claim to provide free data boosts for Jio customers.

But before such lies can spread like wildfire and assume a life of its own, the company has come out and issued a clarification announcing that this news is fake. This was done after the message was brought to the company’s notice on social media by a Jio user who received the message.
Reliance Jio officially commented on Twitter, “Jio does not send such messages/calls. All Jio offer related information is transparently available in your MyJio app or on http://Jio.com. Pls watch out for spam messages & scammers.”
